Station Boarding Pass tiers: what each one costs

Station Casinos sets Boarding Pass status by status credits earned in a six-month period: Gold at 1,000, Platinum at 40,000, President at 100,000 and Chairman at 300,000. Station publishes the rate for every kind of spend, and the rates are far apart. Slots earn 3 credits per $1 and video poker earns 1. Hotel stays earn 50. So Platinum is $13,334 of slot coin-in, $40,000 of video poker, or $800 of hotel stays.

Every Boarding Pass tier, priced

Tier (credits)Hotel (50/$1)Bars (30/$1)Steakhouse (20/$1)Restaurants (10/$1)Slots (3/$1)Video poker (1/$1)
Gold (1,000)$20$34$50$100$334$1,000
Platinum (40,000)$800$1,334$2,000$4,000$13,334$40,000
President (100,000)$2,000$3,334$5,000$10,000$33,334$100,000
Chairman (300,000)$6,000$10,000$15,000$30,000$100,000$300,000

Each cell is one kind of spend on its own, inside one six-month period, rounded up to the dollar. Real plans mix them, and the calculator below adds them up. Station's page also lists bowling at 30 per $1, amenities at 10, sports, race and bingo wagers at 1, and live keno at 15. Live poker earns 100 credits an hour. Table games are rated "based on type, duration, and wager amount per hand", so they can't be priced from outside.

Spend buys something. Play costs something.

The two right-hand columns are coin-in, not cost. Most of what goes through a machine comes back, and what you lose on average is coin-in times the house edge. Video poker earns a third as many credits per dollar as slots, but the edge is so much lower that it's the cheaper way to play for status.

TierSlots: expected loss at 6.50%9/6 Jacks or Better: expected loss at 0.46%
Gold$22$5
Platinum$867$184
President$2,167$460
Chairman$6,500$1,380

6.50% is what machines in Nevada's Boulder Strip area, home to Boulder Station and several Wildfires, actually held over the twelve months to May 2026, per the Gaming Control Board. That figure includes video poker, so reel slots alone hold more. 0.46% is 9/6 Jacks or Better with perfect play, which only applies if you find a 9/6 machine and play it right. The video poker trainer teaches that. Per credit, slots cost about 2.2¢ and good video poker about 0.46¢.

Hotel and dining are different. A dollar on a room buys the room, so the honest price is the spend you wouldn't have made anyway. If you were going to book a Red Rock or Green Valley Ranch weekend anyway, putting it on your Boarding Pass is the closest thing to free status that Vegas publishes. Non-gaming spend earns status credits but no points: Station stopped awarding points on restaurant, bar, hotel and spa purchases after March 31, 2020.

A mixed plan for Platinum: $500 of room nights (25,000) + $300 at a steakhouse (6,000) + $100 at the bar (3,000) = 34,000 credits. The last 6,000 is $6,000 of video poker coin-in, about $28 expected loss at 0.46%, or $2,000 of slot coin-in, about $130 at 6.50%.

What each tier gets you

From Station's tier chart. Every tier, Preferred included, gets best available room rates, invited locals' point multipliers and points as cash back or free slot play. Gift shop discount climbs 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% from Preferred to Chairman. Gold through President get Princess Cruises offers "based on play". President adds VIP parking, select concert tickets when available, 5% off Kids Quest, and VIP check-in, turndown and early or late check-out where available. Chairman adds a Princess cruise outright, valet next-car-up, ground transportation where available, 10% off Kids Quest and 20% off catering.

One benefit is buried in the rules rather than the chart. For local accounts, points last at least 395 days at Platinum, President and Chairman, against 179 days at Gold and Preferred. Out-of-town accounts get 395 days at any tier. If you play slowly, Platinum stops your points expiring before you can use them.

Gold is close to free: one $20 room charge, a $100 dinner, or $334 through a slot machine. Platinum is where the price starts to matter, and for a local the best value is probably the longer point life plus the gift shop discount. President and Chairman buy parking and service perks, and they only pay if you're in a Station casino every week.

Rules that decide the plan

Every Vegas program's base rate is in players cards compared. Caesars and MGM status are priced in the Caesars Diamond calculator and the MGM Gold and Platinum page, and comps are covered in the comps guide.
